ICT with impact: interview with Karen Boers for VCK

The VCK (Flemish Quality Management Center) is targeting managers active in the domains of quality, innovation, transformation and talent development. In their newsletter of February (Dutch) an interview was published with Karen Boers, marketing & communications manager at IBBT. In this interview, Karen explains the mission of IBBT and which implementations were recently realized thanks to this mission.
IBBT aims at qualitative ICT related solutions, which also have a real impact in socially relevant domains.
“In order to reach our goal we use a question directed, user oriented and strongly interdisciplinary approach”, Karen points out.
IBBT is specifically addressing companies, user organizations, nonprofit organizations and authorities for ICON projects. The advantage of an interdisciplinary team is that the definition of a problem is made from various points of view and the solution will be supported by a larger base.
Over the last year, IBBT has largely invested in training, coaching, financing and logistic support to encourage entrepreneurship. The “Start-up Garage” that will be available beginning in March and should become a stimulating environment for the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. "Solutions developed within a research should not remain unused. They should effectively find their way to the market under the form of new services and new companies” confirms Karen.
