IBBT rakes in 5% of 2nd wave FIRE budget

IBBT is participating in no less than seven of the new projects approved in the second wave of the European FIRE initiative (Future Internet Research and Experimentation), combining experimentally driven research and a number of test facilities. IBBT's participation in these projects is accountable for 5% of the total budget of this second wave, with a heavy involvement of the iLabs in each of them. Within the Media Fragments working group their efforts have proved to be fruitful: on September 25 they obtained a W3C Recommendation for the document Media Fragments URI 1.0. A sign for Erik Mannens to re-enforce MMLab's contributions within the W3C family of standards (e.g., Provenance, Linked Data Platform, eGov) and a last milestone in Davy Van Deursen's career at MMLab.
