Blink is an Art&D project about creating a transparent and reflective environment, which stimulates social contact, but also unveils social paradigm concerning both the digital as the urban domain in a general sense. New media offer great opportunities for preserving and distributing our collective memories. Memory institutions – such as museums, archives and libraries- are increasingly using new media to distribute their digital collections. In this way these collections can be viewed by a potentially larger group of participants. However there are still many operational challenges to face.
Everyday more than 10.000 internet users find their way to UiTinVlaanderen.be (OuTinFlanders), the most used OuT agenda for Flanders and Brussels. From today on this is site is opened up for every mobile phone with internet access.
The paper “Assessing Quality of Experience of IPTV and Video on Demand Services in Real-Life Environments”, building on the results from the IBBT project Video Q-SAQ, has been nominated to be included in the June 2011 issue of MMTC’s R-letter.
The research dotation to the IBBT will be increased with 4,2 million euro from 2007.
