Dynamic Impairment Constraint Networking for Transparent Mesh Optical Networks

The FP7 call 1 STREP project DICONET is targeting a novel approach to optical networking providing a disruptive solution for the development of the core network of the future. It is the vision and goal of the DICONET consortium to provide ultra high speed end-to-end connectivity with quality of service and high reliability through the use of optimized protocols and routing algorithms that will complement a flexible control and management plane offering flexibility for the future network infrastructure.

DMoBISA

Distributed Mosaicing Of Biomedical Image Sequences and Analysis

The DMOBISA project focuses on the efficient acquisition, construction and analysis of large field-of-view images. This is a common problem the participating companies are confronted with while acquiring and analysing large biomedical datasets.  Therefore, the goal of the project is to produce an image processing tool that will make mosaic images, align several of these sets and perform particular analysis on them. The aim is to create fully automated procedures and distribute them over several computers.

TIRPA

Tomographic Image Reconstruction, Processing, and Analysis

The TIRPA project focusses on the development of new reconstruction, processing, and analyse algorithmes for Computed Tompgraphy  images. Those algorithms will be applied on 3D CT images of dimonds, foams and bone structures. In addition the project deals with single photon emissie computer tomografie (SPECT) in the field of molecular imaging of small animals.

MEVIC

Medical Virtual Imaging Chain 

The goal of the MEVIC project is to develop a software simulation platform which can be used to reliably determine the clinical performance of a medical system. The platform will be used to simulate the entire medical image chain: from image generation, to processing, to visualization. Using the simulations, it will be possible to tune the physical parameters of medical devices from the standpoint of not only technical measurements, but more importantly, human perception. In other words, medical devices will be optimized in terms of their performance for specific clinically relevant tasks.

During crisis situations, emergency services have to make a lot of crucial decisions based on data gathered from various sources. Wireless mobile camera networks are a good solution for setting up emergency information networks, as they do not rely on fixed infrastructure, can be set up quickly, and provide the necessary communication bandwidth.
