High Potential for Use of Digital Tools in Flemish Healthcare

Three-quarters of participants in large-scale iMinds survey would use health apps and wearables on doctor’s orders

Ghent – 28 May, 2015. Digital research center iMinds recently conducted a large-scale online survey in Flanders about the use of health- and fitness apps and wearables. The survey shows that the use of digital tools in the Flemish health care domain has high potential, as three-quarters of the survey’s participants stated they would use health apps and wearables on doctor’s orders.

Participants’ feedback also showed that – in order to make this happen – a number of aspects (such as tools’ clinical validation and users’ privacy concerns) still need to be addressed by researchers, industry and policy makers.
