iMinds Selects Seven New Start-Ups to Participate in its 'iStart' Business Incubation Program

Each year, 25% additional start-ups can receive iStart support - thanks to new partnership with ING

iMinds has admitted seven new start-ups to its iStart entrepreneurship program. For the next twelve months, they will be able to benefit from professional coaching, and receive financial and practical support to kickstart their businesses. A first, iStart now also attracts foreign talent to Flanders - such as the Dutch start-up Vicancy, which helps employers to recruit the best people by advertising their vacancies through video campaigns.

Going forward, iStart can count on structural support provided by ING (both financial resources and specific expertise), so that each year 25% additional start-ups can be supported by iStart. The new start-ups handpicked to participate in the iStart program include a.o.:

  • Conversation Starter - improving the efficiency of networking at events
  • Djubble - meeting with friends now becomes child's play
  • Quamotion - conducting automated iOS and Android software tests for mobile apps
  • Small Teaser - a digital publishing platform letting everyone create his/her own online magazine
  • Vicancy - changing the way job opportunities are promoted

"iMinds' iStart program contains the ingredients we need to grow even faster. Unlike Dutch initiatives, iMinds provides support for a full year instead of just three months. We are more than happy to base ourselves in Flanders to fully benefit from iMinds' financial and practical support and start conquering the market from here," says Vicancy's Loet Rammelsberg.
