iMinds' Board of Directors appoints new CEO: Danny Goderis

As of today iMinds, Flanders’ digital research and incubation center, has a new CEO: Danny Goderis. His appointment was unanimously approved by the iMinds Board of Directors on December 17th. Over the past couple of months, Danny Goderis already led iMinds as (acting) CEO. The appointment now confirms him in this role.

Following the announced resignation of iMinds founder and former CEO Wim De Waele, Danny Goderis was temporarily appointed as his successor in May 2015. Danny Goderis already proved his added value as iMinds COO over the past three years, redesigning the organization structure, bringing specific focus to iMinds’ strategic research, signing framework agreements and optimizing collaborations with the five universities.

“Danny is the best-fit person to lead a knowledge center like iMinds,” says Lieven Danneels, Chairman of the Board of Directors of which he has been a member since 2007. “He has many years of international business experience, for example with telecoms company Alcatel-Lucent, where he has led the Benelux department of the Bell Labs research activities. He holds a PhD in Science and a Master in Physics. Danny is a man with a vision.”

“Over the past years, I have met many talented iMinds researchers and interacted with dozens of companies. Flanders is a high-potential area to put digital research on the global map. Digital research with an impact, that is what iMinds is about.”
